About the Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub is a pioneering partnership between the South Yorkshire ICS and Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, that aims to identify and address unmet clinical and non-clinical needs across the SYB ICS, inclusive of all specialities, disciplines and health areas. The Hub brings together people working in the NHS, primary care, local authorities and universities to share ideas and challenges. By working collaboratively, together we can improve patient wellbeing and ways of working across South Yorkshire. To transform lives with new ideas.

What we do:

Single Point of Contact

We are the single point of contact for all system wide innovation enquiries and requests for guidance, advice and support and we will lead on the liaison between key stakeholders across the region to help develop partnerships that might yield new ideas for projects to address unmet needs.

Capturing unmet needs

We are developing a unified approach to capturing, validating and prioritising the unmet needs of the SY system. Unmet needs can be both clinical and non-clinical.  The Innovation Hub can support with the identification and validation of market ready innovations to help drive improved health outcomes, clinical processes and patient experience across the SY health economy.

Signposting

Signposting and connecting organisations both within the system (NHS providers / Commissioners / Other ICS Members) and external to the system (including industry and academia). In creating a managed repository of ‘problems’ that can be solved through innovation, the Innovation Hub ensures that the ICS is at the cutting edge of identifying, evaluating and embedding innovative and transformational approaches. By creating a managed and prioritised repository of unmet needs, that can be solved through innovation, the Innovation Hub will ensure the ICS is at the cutting edge of identifying, evaluating and embedding innovative and transformational approaches. Working closely with our partners such as Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, academia, industry, research funders and providers of health and care, we are working together to help accelerate the development and adoption of innovative solutions to help address these unmet needs.

About Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber

Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber is one of 15 organisations set up by NHS England to operate as the key innovation arm of the NHS.

Across the country all 15 organisations act as a bridge between health care providers, commissioners, academia and industry. By connecting these sectors, we help to build a pipeline of solutions for the NHS from research and product development through to implementation and commercialisation.

Locally we work in partnership with our regional health and care community and develop projects, programmes and initiatives that reflect the diversity and meet the needs of our local populations and health care challenges.

We understand the needs of our health systems and are well placed to broker innovative solutions, while collaborating with the other Health Innovation organisations across England to take what works best and quickly spread it nationally.

At Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber we believe in the power of new ideas to improve lives and our ambition is to work together with all our partners to make life better for the people in our region by improving their health and care and by creating a thriving economy for everyone.
